The city of Bukittinggi in West Sumatra is one of RISE Learning Laboratory areas. There were three studies conducted in Bukittinggi City: a study related to non-permanent teacher competence assessment, a study on student learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a study on sociocultural drivers of local educational innovations at the district/city level.
In collaboration with Bukittinggi City's Education and Culture Agency, RISE Programme in Indonesia held a dissemination event (workshop) "Learning from Bukittinggi City's Education Policy Innovations". The event was held to conveying the results of the study to stakeholders involved in the study, such as the education office, teachers, principals, parents of students, and other stakeholders in Bukittinggi. In addition, the workshop was also held to encourage further discussion on innovation in education policies in Bukittinggi City and neighbouring cities/districts.
