Learning is given for a teacher because we are required to always keep up with the latest development in technology and culture. For the past year, I had the opportunity to learn, among others, from the teachers working group and online training.
Seasons have passed and now the dry season has returned, reminding me of my journey as a teacher for more than a year. I encountered plenty of situations during my tenure that shaped me into a better teacher.
I thought this year would be a calm one without any big storm on the horizon. I had made plans involving many sources and considerations. As it turned out, this year was an unexpected one.
Have I ever wished to turn back time to change the future? I never thought of it because it can only happen in fictional stories in novels and films. If I could repeat the past, I would still choose my current job, being a teacher. Never once I regret choosing this profession.
Peacefulness, a joyful heart, and being a good listener are the things I've received from being a teacher. The joy I felt did not come from my salary nor my position but from enjoying communication with students at school. So, if I could repeat the past, I would still become a teacher because I know how I enjoyed this profession.
My parents chose for me and signed me up at a college majoring in teacher training. I just followed along. During my time in college, I realized that I love the subject. I thought that was what my life should be. I was determined to become a teacher.
I am a teacher now. I have taught in various schools for about 2.5 years. Have I ever thought of turning around and not becoming a teacher? Never. I will not turn around. I will continue to get "lost" in this path of being a teacher and I have no regret.
If I could repeat the time, I would still become a teacher. There is no dull moment being a teacher. There are many things to do, many students with different characters to see. Each day, teachers meet with innocent students like a blank page waiting to be written a story. It will affect our nation in the future.
Hopes and dreams are inevitable for everyone, including myself. Although I've fulfilled my dreams one by one, I still wish to move forward and grow. Having hopes and dreams makes us human.
If I could turn back time, I would choose to become a teacher. I never aspired to become a teacher. My parents forced me to be one. Being a primary school teacher was never on my plan.
