The Importance of Numeracy and Literacy Skills as A Life-skill Competency - Dr. Rahmawati

"There are highly potential children, with excellent literacy and numeracy skills, but we also cannot overlook the fact that there are a large number of students which literacy and numeracy skills must be improved, from basic numeracy to numeracy and literacy for life-skill competency. That is our big home work."

"How to improve [students’] basic literacy so that they will have life-skill competency and can be individually independent as a citizen."

Dr. Rahmawati, S.T., M.Ed. is the Coordinator for Analysis and Utilization of Assessment Results, Center for Assessment and Learning (Ministry of Education and Culture). She shared a message about the importance of literacy and numeracy skills as a life-skill competency for Indonesian children. The message was delivered after Forum of Development Studies: Assessment of Children's Literacy and Numeracy Skills event.
