Description:

In-person schooling trial began to be implemented in a number of districts. The Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia emphasized that in-person schooling must be carried out immediately considering that online distance learning methods are no longer effective and make students in Indonesia even more left behind. On the other hand, weak health protocols caused hundreds of students to test positive for COVID-19 after in-person schooling trial began.

CNN Indonesia interviewed Florischa Ayu Tresnatri (researcher of RISE Programme in Indonesia, The SMERU Research Institute), Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria, and University of Indonesia Epidemiologist Tri Yunis Miko Wahyono regarding the reopening of schools.
