Ulfah holds a master's degree in communication science from the University of Indonesia, and an undergraduate degree in horticulture from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Previously, Ulfah worked as a consultant for the Center for International Forestry Research (2012-2013), the Ministry of Forestry, and Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF).

Ulfah is currently involved as a qualitative researcher in two RISE studies: Pre-Service Teacher Professional Education and The Journey of Indonesian Beginning Teachers.
